Overview

Design by Erik Magnussen, 1977.
By Stelton.

Erik Magnussen's vacuum jug with its unique rocker stopper was introduced in 1977 as follow-up to Arne Jacobsen's Cylinda-Line. Just like Arne Jacobsen's design the stringent cylindrical shaped, graphic appearance of the vacuum jug expresses a minimalism and functionality that remains ahead of its time. With over 30 years of success, the line is celebrated by Stelton with release of six limited jubilee jugs, for which this timeless classic received the Danish Design Prize 2007, the only product ever receiving this prestigious award twice.

Stelton

Manufacturer: Stelton

Stelton was founded in Denmark, 1960 with humble beginnings selling steel hollowware. When administrative director Peter Holmblad established a cooperation with the leading Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1964 they saught to create a true line of tableware where correlation of design between the individual items would always ensure harmonious table settings. The result was the now famous Cylinda-Line which was launched in 1967 and immediately attracted considerable attention for its serene and functionalist design. The company rapidly grew in Denmark and worldwide due to the success of Cylinda-Line.

Today, Stelton offers five different design-lines with products from more than 20 top-designers and thereby represents once again one of the most innovative and front-running companies of its kind. Stelton has been awarded the "ID-prize" by the Danish Design Council four times and a number of Stelton products are exhibited in a.o.The Museum of Modern Art and The Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Victoria & Albert Museum and British Museum, London; Staatliches Museum für angewandte Kunst, Munich and Kunstindustrimuseet, Copenhagen; Louvre and Pompidou, Paris. On top of this, Stelton receives each year some of the world's most important international design prizes such as iF product design award, Red Dot, and FORM.

Stelton represents a special view of the world - we call it "a Stelton state of mind": to believe in surprising, innovative, clearly functional and high quality Scandinavian design. Stelton - awarded "Denmark's Coolest Brand 2005", "Superbrand 2006" and "Danish Design Prize 2007".
