Pure was born in 2001 in Los Angeles, California when three Argentinean architects decided to start a cowhide rug company. The three had always admired the way architects and interior designers from the beginning of modernism were using cowhides as rugs, bringing a touch of warmth and eclecticism to their spaces. So their idea was to start the first cowhide brand. They named their company and vision 'Pure'.

Today, Pure offers the most desirable collection of modern cowhide and sheepskin rugs. Working with the softest, shiniest, full body hides, Pure leaves no detail behind. From individually selecting each hide and composing exclusive designs and patterns, to the perfection of each long lasting stitch, Pure Rugs are a long wearing product, timeless in design and use.

Pure Rugs are derived and crafted responsibly too. Quality hides are sourced from Argentina and Brazil, countries with a long-standing tradition of producing the best leathers worldwide. Pure partners with the most skilled leather artisans in the region - all Pure rugs are handmade in Buenos Aires, Argentina. And all hides used in the production of Pure products are leftovers from the food industry. Pure Tanneries are ISO-9001 certified for quality and ISO 14001 certified for low environmental impact.
