Design by Ayako Takase.
The Ekke Votives + Snuffer take their inspiration from a traditional Japanese children's game 'Daruma Otoshi', whereby a wooden doll stacked in 5 pieces is hit in turn with a hammer without letting any of its pieces fall. In this home accent interpretation, the votives are stacked along the internally embedded handle of an accompanying snuffer. The set can be configured and reconfigured for use as a table top game, of sorts. Or the votives can be easily 'unpacked' from their stack and elegantly scattered across the tabletop or spread out along a window sill to provide delicate touches of warm natural candlelight. Use the included Snuffer when you're ready to put out the lights.
Ekke Votives + Snuffer are rendered in Teroforma's distinctive Ekke shapes, to coordinate with other items in the series. Votives accommodate a standard 3/4" tall tea light. Flame resistant lacquer finish is used for both votives and the snuffer. Crafted of natural beech wood in the Czech Republic by Drevotvar - a collective of local manufacturers committed to ethical sourcing, bearing certification from both FSC ISO.

Teroforma: Creating beautiful things with integrity in design, construction and quality.
Teroforma was created in 2006 by Anna and Andrew Hellman, driven by a desire to meet interesting people, see new places and create beautiful things. What they quickly learned was that ensuring their standards for products meant rejecting the allure of mass production. And so, the team embarked on a search for hand-picked designers and true craftsmen who could produce their products with skill and integrity - a search that lead them all over the world . Ultimately their vision emerged of the "right way" to make things in a world of scarce resources. This was a "focus on the quality and integrity of the creative process and the people involved knowing that only then can the finished product ever be considered truly beautiful."
The team at Teroforma has built a very strong idea of the ways that products should be offered to customers - simply, honestly, transparently and with a dedication to quality. They believe that products should be made to outlast their owners. And Teroforma commits that it will always be honest and thoughtful, working hard to surprise and delight its customers with carefully crafted home tools and accents for dining and entertaining.View other products from Teroforma
