Design by Giulio Cappellini & Henry Kloss. By Tivoli Audio®.
Inside the Cappellini Model One Radio is a discrete-component FM tuner with GaAs MES-FET mixers originally developed for cellular phones, resulting in improved FM reception. Acoustically speaking, Tivoli Audio's equalization and voicing gives the Cappellini Model One a sound much richer and larger than its footprint. Sometimes the simplest things in life can also be the most pleasurable. Like all Tivoli Audio products, the Cappellini Model One Radio is compatible with iPod® and other players.
Each Cappellini Model One Radio features a seven-layer high-gloss lacquered finish available in three exclusive color combinations with a silver Cappellini-embossed speaker grille. Available in China Blue/Silver, Acid Green/Silver or Chestnut Brown/Silver.
(1929-2002) Henry Kloss was a prominent audio engineer and businessman who helped advance high fidelity loudspeaker and radio receiver technology beginning in the 1950s. Kloss studied physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was responsible for a number of innovations, including the acoustic suspension loudspeaker and the high fidelity cassette deck. In 2000, Kloss was one of the first inductees into the Consumer Electronics Association's Hall of Fame. Henry Kloss co-founded Tivoli Audio along with Tom DeVesto in 2000.
Giulio Cappellini
Based in Milan, Giulio Cappellini is Italy's leading high-end furniture designer. His innovative and unique designs flawlessly combine form and function, making them as suitable for the living room as they are for a museum gallery. His designs are featured in museums of art and design worldwide.
Where performance and simplicity are paramount but space is sparse, the Cappellini Model One® mono table radio fits the bill. With just three knobs, it is the antithesis of today's ever more complex electronic products. But behind the Cappellini Model One's simple appearance hides a multitude of technology, facilitating higher sound reproduction and better reception over anything else near it in size or cost. Available in China Blue/Silver, Acid Green/Silver or Chestnut Brown/Silver. Design by Giulio Cappellini & Henry Kloss.
Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
