Once upon a time there was a man by the name of Giacomo Valsecchi. He was quite the wood specialist who had a knack for reinvention as he took the ordinary and made it extraordinary! Mr. Valsecchi's story begins in 1918 when he began making great strides towards giving life to his business. Soon he found that he was doing quite well that by 1930 he began to make wooden toys, like Pinocchios and trucks, and by the 1970s he moved on to home accessories. As the success of his company grew and grew, the company finally decided to apply their wood working skills to the world of home design!
Valsecchi1918 is a company with an early history heavily rooted in Italian wood crafting. With the rise of a new generation with strong beliefs in the value of design, the company went back to its roots (hence the reference to the company's founding year and the selection of Pinocchio as the company logo) and found a way to successfully weave their beliefs into the DNA of the company. It was not until recently that Valsecchi1918 started to put their wood working practices into creating beautiful, high quality, solid, wood furniture. However, at no point did the company forget about their environmental impact.
Since the beginning, the company has prided itself on its sensitivity to the potential negative impacts on the environment as they've slowly moved into mass retail. Even now, Valsecchi1918 remains conscientious of their wood usage and the effects of their production processes. With certification in ISO 9001 and FSC, the company only farms from responsibly managed forests and makes it a point to produce with zero impact from renewable resources. Their sustainable practices are well defined through their production process, such as: using water-based paints, reusing waste to heat the company premise during winters, and recycling chips for the creation of new and exquisite furniture.
