The perfect gift for my boss...

My boss and I spend most of our time looking for well designed products- so buying him a gift was a bit tricky- I looked for months for just the right gift. When I saw this clock I knew it was perfect- strong, modern and classic. The brass and thick slice of acrylic pair nicely- classic materials that are combined in a unique, almost seamless way. Not to mention that the clock is a 1947 George Nelson design produced by the incomparable Vitra. P.s.- I had a slight issue when ordering the clock- but the customer service at YLiving was excellent and the issue was resolved immediately. I will definitely look to YLiving for future purchases.
great gift for a Masters of Architecture grad!

This clock by George Nelson is awesome and was so well received as a gift for a graduate @ UWM for his Masters degree in Architecture. clock was shipped quickly and came with a certificate of authenticity. Very "Mad Men" styling and shows the timeless design as the 25 year old grad thought it was a perfect gift!

When writing about the course of his remarkable 50-year career, George Nelson described a series of creative "zaps" — moments of out-of-the-blue inspiration "when the solitary individual finds he is connected with a reality he never dreamed of."
Nelson said that for a designer to deal creatively with human needs, "he must first make a radical, conscious break with all values he identifies as antihuman." Designers also must constantly be aware of the consequences of their actions on people and society. In fact, he declared that "total design is nothing more or less than a process of relating everything to everything." So he said that rather than specializing, designers must cultivate a broad base of knowledge and understanding.
Nelson did so as few are able, and, with the help of well-timed zaps, he helped define modern, humane design.
