wohnbedarf was founded in 1931 by Werner Max Moser, Siegfried Giedion and Rudolf Graber in Zurich. They were driven by their will to offer flawless furniture, both in the sense of practicality and form, to the public.

"Let lifestyle and home decor merge together" was the credo of wohnbedarf founders Werner Max Moser, Sigfried Giedion and Rudolf Graber. As early as 1933, wohnbedarf moved into the studio designed by Marcel Breuer at Talstrasse 11 in Zurich. Some of the pieces of furniture that were produced specifically for wohnbedarf by renowned artists, architects and designers such as Max Bill, Le Corbusier, Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Richard Paul Lohse, Willy Guhl or Gottfried Honegger have long since become absolute classics.
