Design Philippe Starck, 1997.
By xO Design.
The design for all! Such was Philippe Starck's intention with this 1997 design for xO. This chair is reasonably priced as its name says. Cheap Chic is part of a quest for borderline anonymity, defined as objects which are not exceptional to command admiration or aesthetic appreciation. Instead, their presence is justified simply because they make life more pleasant. It can "disappear", or at least become translucent, when required. Cheap Chic is a small, discreet, sturdy, stackable chair. It is elegance in its purest state. Available in a range of solid or translucent shades to offset, stand-out or blend in.
This item is stackable.
Material(s): Frame in soldered aluminum epoxy lacquered. Seat in colored polypropylene.

Back in 1984, Philipppe Starck is raising to stardom; Gérard Mialet's spirits are high. Together, they cross the line and decide to create a new design house. It will be XO. To quote Starck, "To make a beautiful baby, parents have to be in love.".
XO is definitely a love affair.
