Modern Friendsgiving Tablescapes
Friendsgiving, our new favorite holiday. It’s more comfortable than meeting around a formal dinner table with your grandmother, and you don’t have to make the meal all by yourself.
If you’re playing host for the evening then you’re in charge of the turkey and the decorations. While the turkey may take you hours, your decorations shouldn’t. The serving platters and bowls of today’s modern kitchen can make your Friendsgiving table look fantastic with little effort. Here are some of our favorite serving platters and table themes sure to impress:
Pastel and Gold
These platters from Ferm Living add a bit of pastel to your holiday spread and are perfect for using as serving platters or coasters for hot pots. Another plus, they’re dishwasher safe, so any spills clean up easy.
Match the soft tones of the platter with contrasting pastel colors in your plates and glasses. Add some gold flatware and table decorations to round out your modern friendsgiving tablescape.
Slate and Wine
Maybe your friendsgiving has a wine and cheese theme? This slate plate would make a beautiful backdrop for a cheese platter.
Necessary for a modern friendsgiving with wine: beautiful glasses, a chic ice bucket, and you can’t forget the wine breather. Keep your decorations simple by using glass as your main texture, and silver to match the tones of the slate tray.
Silver and Classic
Your breadbasket will get a metallic upgrade with the help of this rope coil bowl. And while it may look like a real rope, it’s actually a sneaky cast bowl. If you do use it as a bread holder, be sure to line it with a beautiful napkin as it is not finished to food safe standards.
Balance the metallic of the coil bowl with black for a sophisticated and classic look. Glassware will add reflective surfaces, creating a metallic mood, without adding a lot of shining accessories.
Wood and Traditional
A traditional stable setting is not complicated, and begs for cream colors and natural wood elements. Keep your table simple, with white plates and minimal accessories, and let the food shine.
No matter how you do your modern friendsgiving, just remember what the season is about. Celebrate friendship, give thanks, and eat massive amounts of food.
