The holidays are almost upon us! Get your home ready for your guests so their stay is full of comfortably modern holiday decor It’s all about switching out accents and decorative items with seasonal ones to create a winter inspired space, just in time for the holidays.

Any overnight guests are going to be needing a comfortable place to sleep, and switching out the sheets for some is an easy way to liven things up. The Madera Sheet Set from Inhabit has a wood grain pattern, that reminiscent of a yule time log. While the pattern has a wintery, modern-cabin appeal, the 400 thread count of organic cotton will keep them snug in luxurious comfort.

Accents pillows are a great way to add a bit of holiday pop. I like the bright red with the cross stitched front on the Mima Pillow from Blu Dot. It reminds me of a Swiss Army style, which then makes me think of skiing in the Alps.

Always keep extra cozy blankets on hand for when the temperature dips. This is also the perfect opportunity to add some offbeat colors to your seasonal guest room makeover. I like the Funny Pink Blanket from Missoni Home, for its unexpected color palette and also because its made from 100% wool, so your guests shouldn’t catch a chill with this guy wrapped around them.

Bring in a seasonal touch that’s both wintery and reminiscent of the holidays. The Simon Pearce Vermont Evergreen glass trees are classy and versatile, the delicate glass goes with just about any decor. They look like they’ve been carved out of ice!

Or decorate with a quirky modern holiday item that’ll be memorable for all who come, like the Xmas Friends from Alessi, which is absolutely adorable.

There’s something so warm and inviting about a hardy scented candle. They bring comfort and calm to any space and provide a bit of mood lighting. Let guests feel right at home by adding a yummy candle, like Tom Dixon’s luxurious Fire Scented Candle, to the guest room. Don’t forget to leave some matches!

And last but not least, simply restocking your guest bathroom with a set of luxurious towels will immediately make your guests feel welcomed and taken care of. I like the Route Black and White Towel Set from Zuzunaga. Not only does it have a great geometric pattern in chic black and white, but it also comes with every towel your guests could ever need.
