House Tour: Upper West Side Pad
This modern house tour of Garrett Neff’s Upper West Side Pad is just what your Thursday needs. It’s modern infused with prep, old world accents to create a layered look that’s unmistakably stylish.
We’re touring Garrett Neff’s Upper West Side apartment, and I’ve got to say, it’s what every young-career’s bachelor pad should look like. This is a model apartment for a model of a man. Literally, he’s a model– and entrepreneur, actor, and all around down-to-earth man, and his space certainly represents that.
The living room is a great example of how eclectic this pad is. A dark wall provides a deep accent, perfect for popping these crisp black and white pieces of art off of. An oversized sectional has plenty of room for lounging.
Even the fireplace mixes and mingles modern with antique treasures. The contemporary piece of art is a statement piece over an ornate mantle while antique ducks and tin provide even more contrast and collected treasures.
There might be some debate around which modern lounge chair is the ultimate iconic piece, my two sense: The Eames Lounge Chair is a no brainer, and apparently Mr. Neff is on board. This chair just exudes modern, it’s an all American classic and the ultimate staple for any modern pad.
Just off the living room, a black Twiggy Floor Lamp practically scrapes the ceiling in a contemporary dining room. White curtains help to frame out the window and gives a little privacy. The dark walls continue into this room, giving plenty of contrast with the bold white molding.
Talk about a way to display your memories! That ship wheel is a huge focal point, and just resting a few photographs and art pieces at the base creates a multi-layered and stylish wall collage.
A Hudson Bay wool blanket is an East Coast prep staple and it gives this modern bedroom color while playing off of the vintage and old world accents, like that little globe atop an antique-style dresser.
I like how this space blends an office with a display of personal mementos and trinkets. It gives it a very real and relaxed feeling that isn’t all business.
Well that does it for this modern house tour. You can see the original post on Yahoo Style. Just click here to check out the rest of the photos and to read an interview from Garrett Neff.
