Lighting is one of the key elements in interior design – it’s not just a decorative accessory, it’s vital for living life. Luckily, we’ve got every iconic light you can imagine so you can not only brighten your space up, you can bring some serious modern style to your space. Take a look at some of our favorite modern lighting pieces:

It might be impossible to check out modern lighting without finding George Nelson Bubble Lamps. The classic, mid-century design has been a design favorite since it first launched in 1947, and thankfully, it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere.

As far as floor lamps go, the Achille Castiglioni- and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni-designed Arco Floor Lamp for FLOS is one of the most recognizable and rightfully so.

The Arne Jacobsen-designed AJ Table Lamp was designed for Louis Poulsen back in 1960, along with the AJ Floor Lamp, for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and since then, the slightly-tilted design has been going strong.

Designed by George Carwardine in 1935, this Anglepoise Original 1227 Task Lamp and its spring-based design have made it one of the most popular desk/work lamps ever. It easily moves into position and the shade concentrates light down towards the task at hand.

While it’s a more recent design, the 2005 Bourgie Table Lamp blends baroque style with modern design resulting in a classically iconic lamp. Designed by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell, the lamp’s baroque silhouette is made out of modern-day polycarbonate.
