With a design philosophy centered around simple color, form and function, Joe Cariati's collection of bottles, decanters, vases and home decor are inspired by icons of mid-century modern design. Based in Los Angeles, the Joe Cariati studio produces thousands of elegant, minimalist glass objects which are all blown and shaped by hand, eschewing the use of molds. This process elevates Joe Cariati designs to the realm of fine art, and makes the creation of each piece a deceptively complex and intricate process.
Joe Cariati is an award winning artist and craftsman, having dedicated more than 20 years to the practice of glassblowing. His Los Angeles studio was founded in 2003 where he continues to hone his craft, pushing the boundaries of glassblowing and design. Joe Cariati's work is entirely free-blown, a Venetian glass blowing process that uses the human hand to form and shape the vessels. No part of the process is automated, and each piece is made one by one using the ancient techniques that Joe Cariati has perfected over his career.
