Founded in 2004 by designer Traci Fleming, Nursery Works set out to produce comfortable modern furniture for design-savvy parents and their children. Now a purveyor of cutting-edge juvenile products, created for the ultra-chic, Nursery works whenever possible, in close collaboration with highly skilled American craftspeople to build each piece. Nursery Works practices low volume production manufacturing that allows them to employ methods, and materials that would be unavailable in typical high volume production manufacturing. As a part of the childrens industry, Nursery Works takes pride in presenting innovative materials that raise the bar in design, quality, and functionality for parent and babies around the world.
During the development of each product, Nursery Works strives to explore new materials and processes, environmentally safe acrylic, CNC-milled maple, 24K gold-plated aluminum, custom marble/granite and powder-coated stainless steel
As an additional note-worthy product feature, many of their solid wood cribs are bench-made in small local shops in the United States using traditional joinery, a historical building method, that cannot be accomplished in mass production. For other cribs, Nursery Works employs precise CNC milling that allows them to envision designs that were previously unimaginable. This combination of smart textiles produced by the latest technologies, and leading designs are unique to Nursery Works. Low- and non-volatile organic compound (VOC) finishes are used across all Nursery Works products, which are also tested to governmental standards on an annual basis to ensure the safe use.
