Arik Levy is a founding partner of the multi-disciplinary design studio, L Design, and has worked across a broad range of projects including product design, industrial design, corporate identity, interior design and stage design. The Paris-based, Israeli born designer has previously designed sets for such esteemed institutions as the Grand Theater de Geneve, the Netherlands Dance Theater, the Finnish National Ballet, and BatSheva Dance, Israel. He has conducted design workshops in universities across Europe, as well as summer workshops for the prestigious Vitra Design Museum.
Born in Tel Aviv, Arik left his graphic design studio and surf shop for Europe at the age of 27. He graduated with a distinction in Industrial Design from the Art Centre of Europe in Switzerland. He subsequently won the SeikoEpson Inc competition and took part in several design exhibitions in Japan. Returning to Europe, Arik applied his innovative concepts and installations to contemporary dance and opera scenography around the world. The winner of many awards, his work has also been exhibited in numerous high profile fairs, galleries, museums and exhibitions.
From his current company, L Design, initiated with business partner Pippo Lionni, Arik and team realise projects in industrial, lighting and product design, interior architecture, signage and packaging, corporate identity and exhibition design within Europe and internationally. Clients have included Vitra, Ligne-Roset, SeikoEpson Inc, Gaia & Gino, L-Oreal, Lanvin, Renault, Tai Ping, Baccarat and Gallery La Fayette.
Arik works as both a scientist and a poet. Innovation, simplicity and experimentation are the hallmarks of his work.
